For this role, you will report directly to Élise Merlet, GOURMEY’s Head of Legal amp; IP.
What will your responsibilities be?
As a Senior In-House Legal Counsel, you will give strategic advice to help GOURMEY to reach its goals while
securing operations, focusing on contract handling, excluding social law (HR), regulation and IP.
- Successful negotiation - review, draft, and negotiate contracts (e.g. NDA, MTA, MSA, collaboration, supply amp; demand, purchasing) in French amp; in English, in Ramp;D and operations, thereby ensuring GOURMEY meets its obligations.
- Legal Risk Management - provide legal advice to serve GOURMEY’s strategy (business law, competition law, corporate, compliance, GDPR, IP).
- Support legal operations, including fundraising and litigation.
- Develop an international network of legal counsels in key geographies while staying up-to-date with new laws and regulations in relation to GOURMEY’s activities.
- Legal culture @ GOURMEY - develop and enhance the legal culture of the company.
What about you?
- At least 8 years’ work experience in commercial/business law, preferably in the food/biotechnology industry.
- Solid knowledge of French and European law. Bonus if you have US law knowledge.
- Master’s degree in law, preferably business law.
- Hands-on approach, strong analyticaland communication skills, both verbal and written, ability to work autonomously.
- Passionate about GOURMEY’s mission to bring delicious and sustainable foods to market through innovation
- Fluent English and French, both oral and written.
The ideal candidate is qualified in both French and US law and has experience in the food industry, biotech or novel food.
