Based in Elancourt (30km from Paris), the center houses state-of-the-art equipment and highly qualified staff, and conducts programs of strategic importance for Aliaxis Group, organized around 4 specific innovation platforms (Water management, Adhesion amp; jointing, Advanced materials amp; sustainability, Digital amp; sensors).
Within Aliaxis Research amp; Technology Center, we are looking for a Ramp;D ENGINEER STRUCTURAL SIMULATION who will manage medium term Ramp;D projects and technology developments in her/his field of expertise.
The role
- Manage simulation projects, leads studies on simulation, material behavior modeling, and mechanical characterizations.
- Collaboration in project accelerated mode and final-product orientation, through visualizing the idea into a virtual prototype and validating by simulation.
- Work in FabLab to materialize simulated virtual prototypes via additive manufacturing and 3D printer.
- Ensure continuous alignment of the simulation capabilities with the need of Aliaxis Ramp;T Center and its partners.
- Engage with internal amp; external experts (patent attorneys, design consultants, universities) to support each project.
- Contribute to the improvement of products with the exploitation of the simulation results that you generate.
- Act as a reference in mechanical/structure simulation and testing, by sharing knowledge, mentoring, and coaching less experienced team members.
Requirements
Our ideal profile is a motivated and dynamic Structural Simulation Ramp;D Engineer with strong competency in FEA, willing to learn and innovate working with a multicultural team.
More concretely, the key requirements for the role can be summarized as follows:
- Master’s engineering degree -or PhD- in Simulation, Mechanical Engineering, or Polymer Material Science.
- Strong competency in Finite Element Analysis - FEA.
- Good understanding of the numerical simulation methodologies for Structural, Fluid-Structure interaction analysis.
- Experience working with polymers simulation / plastics modeling (relevant industries: pipe, automotive, aerospace, or consumer goods).
- Knowledge of the Ansys software. Experience with CAD tools (e.g. Solidworks, Catia, Creo).
- Skills in mechanical design, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, material strength, structural calculation, static and quasi-static calculation, dynamic calculation (modal, frequency, transient).
- Competences in acoustic calculation (airborne noise, fluid/structure coupling, electromagnetic noise).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Knowledge of French is a strong plus.
