We are actively looking for a mission-driven, self-motivated and passionate VP Engineering owning Gourmey’s engineering roadmap at demonstrator and commercial scale. Reporting directly to the CTO.
What will you be responsible for?
- Develop and lead the execution of the capital Plan including business opportunity, equipment and Infrastructure project
- Build and lead our Manufacturing Engineering team and manage our external parties to deliver demonstrator and commercial manufacturing plants on time.
- Create and maintain techno-economic models to evaluate the feasibility and profitability of Gourmey's manufacturing projects.
- Develop and execute the long-term manufacturing strategy for Gourmey's cultivated meat products, including identifying and selecting the most suitable equipment and technologies for scale-up.
- Hold all vendors and contractors accountable to all fiduciary commitments, GMP, and safety practices. Complete all projects on time, within budget and within scope and stated results.
- Write and execute Installation, Operational, and Performance Qualification protocols
What about you?
- 10 years of work experience in the food industry, ideally dairy, brewing, other fermentation.
- At least 5+ years of related work experience in brewery/distillery, pharma or nutraceutical, dairy, or other fermentation environments in a leadership position.
- Proven experience in successfully designing, building, and commissioning manufacturing plants for new processes, preferably in the food industry.
- Capital Project Engineering Experience up to $50 million.
- Previous experience in setting/up a manufacturing plant for a new manufacturing process.
- Excellence with optimization of complex processes, systems, or organizations by developing, improving and implementing integrated systems of knowledge, information and equipment.
- Experience working with EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) firms to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of engineering projects.
- Demonstrated leadership and team development skills. Experience in recruiting.
- Operational, budgetary and technical project management for new and existing facilities
- In-depth knowledge of diverse business functions: Capital planning, Quality, Logistics, Supply Chain, etc.
- Track record of strong working knowledge of and commitment to high safety standards in all manufacturing operations.
- Fluent English, both written and spoken. We are an international team, no need to speak French!
- Enthusiastic, with a strong work ethic and self-motivation; a sense of ownership and responsibility to drive outcomes.
