About the role:

You will join the Ramp;D team of Skeepers (125 staff), a talented team working on the development of all Skeepers Solutions. In a SaaS company like SKEEPERS, the Engineering team is the main engine of our growth. Your work will have a direct impact on our end customers and your taste for challenge will allow the whole group to grow.

Within the Ramp;D department, you will join a squad to work on our Consumer Video solution

On a daily basis you will collaborate with a technical team of 5 people, and you will be a referent for the technical choices.

Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Team Lead and supported by the Head of Engineering, the Technical Lead guides a team of Software Developers from initial inception of ideas to roll-out, ensuring they meet quality targets and are delivered on time. The Technical Lead will provide technical expertise and act as a technical liaison consulting with upstream and downstream stakeholders on priorities and requirements. Your main missions will be the following:

  • Lead and inspire a team of talented developers
  • Provide technical leadership to teammates through coaching and mentorship on a regular basis
  • Collaborate with team members to develop high-traffic low-latency applications while delivering high-availability and performance
  • Build, optimize, and scale the SOA platform and infrastructure
  • Evangelize best software development practices (DDD, TDD, CICD)
  • Perform code reviews and design reviews to ensure compliance with development standards
  • Draft and review architectural diagrams, interface specifications, class structures, and other design documents
  • Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing best practices and habits

Requirements

  • 10 years of experience in software and web development
  • 5 years of experience in front-end and back-end development
  • Software development experience in one of the following languages: JavaScript, Node.js (Typescript),React.Js
  • Strong knowledge and experience in design patterns (SOLID, DDD) and architecture
  • Expertise in microservices architecture
  • Understanding of the full Web technology stack (HTML, CSS, HTTP, cookies, headers, sessions asset loading/caching, etc.) and a broad knowledge of the JavaScript ecosystem
  • Experience with Cloud (AWS), containers (Docker/Kubernetes), relational (PostGreSQL) and non-relational (Redis, Mongo) databases, multi-tiered software development, and Web-based and API software development is a must
  • Strong experience in training and coaching junior developers
  • Strong leadership, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work under strict deadlines
  • Team player with solid interpersonal skills
  • Strong ability to present, synthesize and influence change
  • Bilingual (spoken and written French and English)
