Job Description
We are taking up the challenge of building an ideal Quantum Computer, from the first building block to the whole machine. Aliceamp;Bob was launched in February 2020.
In a very short time, the team has grown from 4 to 40 people to meet this major challenge! Aliceamp;Bob raised 27M in March 2022 to support its growth.
We believe that small high-performance teams can have a worldwide impact. We are at the forefront of the quantum race, competing with tech giants such as Google or AWS.
The quantum computer we envision building is based on a new kind of superconducting qubit invented and developed by Alice amp; Bob and its academic partners : the Schrödinger cat qubit. In comparison to other superconducting platforms, cat qubits have the astonishing ability to implement quantum error correction autonomously! Yet, the engineering challenges to make this happen are immense.
As a software development engineer at Aliceamp;Bob your role is to contribute to the building of the framework controlling the hardware Equipements and experiments. Your main customers will be the scientists and physicists who run the cryogenic measurements.
As part of your role, you will be required to:
- Participate in the software development, with a deep focus on the internal experiments control software (ExpTools project)
- Help Aliceamp;Bob physicists to develop their code;
- Upgrade existing software toward industrial quality (test policy, security by design)

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:- Development of industry software with strong team spirit;
- Very good grasp of Python;
- Experience in software test engineering
- More than 5 years in a professional software development environment (industry, software firms)
- Master degree in computer science, or engineering, or electronics
SKILLS:
- Pain point hunter, automation maniac;
- Long game thinker;
- Big picture overseer and synthesis minded;
- Ability to explain the solution to non-programming experts
- Ability to reason and spot corner cases by reading source code;
- Having an excellent and honest analysis;
- Looking beyond the obvious and not stopping at the first answers
- Good grasp of numpy, and broad scientific culture (including scientific instrumentation) is a plus;
- Experience in agile development is a plus;
- Experience in user experience improvement is a plus
