In order to augment our Systems Engineering, we are looking for a Principal Network Engineer for our Bidart, France.

Requirements

Description of role

As a Network Engineer, you will improve the security posture and the rationalization of the development and production network environments. You will be instrumental to our leading SOPHiA DDM Platform as a key owner of production networking environments used by hundreds of clients worldwide.

Our platform is a one-of-a-kind globally distributed information system that brings together hospitals and labs to provide data ingestion and processing, analysis and modeling, reporting and intelligence, distribution and sharing of a multitude of complex sources of structured and unstructured data, including genomics, imaging, and clinical data, delivered as a multi-tenant SaaS platform on the cloud.

Main Responsibility

Technical contribution

• Suggest solutions to and remediate vulnerabilities
• Develop processes to maintain and secure network infrastructure
• Automate processes in Azure and other cloud providers like AWS or GCP
• Promptly resolve issues and perform maintenance tasks on our network infrastructure in production and in development
• Provide network support for the global network, both physical and cloud
• Monitor and plan for scalability of the networking infrastructure

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's in computer science or equivalent
• You have 5+ years of proven experience in similar position.
• Computer and network system security experience
• Practical experience with hardware/rack-installations and low level hardware trouble shooting
• Self starter and autonomous in decision making aligning with stakeholders like Security, DevOps, Sysops and Architecture
• Can drive for decisions and lead small projects independently
• Experience working on cloud native development and design in Azure, AWS or GCP
• Experience with Automation tools like Ansible or Puppet
• Cisco ASA/Firewall knowledge
• Cisco Meraki Cloud management experience
• Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp new technologies
• Experience with Terraform or another provisioning tools
• Highly proficient in spoken and written English, French is an asset (other languages are a plus)
• Excellent decision making, analytical and goal oriented
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Strong interpersonal and influencing skills at all levels of the organization
