Avascent is hiring Associate Managers to work alongside motivated, talented, and supportive colleagues on a variety of consulting engagements as we develop new capabilities to serve our clients. Associate Managers are emerging project leaders who begin as individual contributors refining their analytical toolkits, and then progress toward full-spectrum project management and team leadership at Avascent. This is a transitional role that enables Associate Managers to leverage their prior expertise and experience while learning about our project types and methodologies, and contributing to project execution before pivoting to project and client management. Associate Managers own the content of their workstreams and engagements, and personally commit to producing outstanding client value through a combination of intellectual leadership, creativity, and effective execution.RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and deliver thoughtful, pragmatic and analytically rigorous responses on client engagements, including 1) conducting primary and secondary research amp; analyses using both qualitative and quantitative research methods, internal and using internal and external sources including databases, information services, and internet resources and 2) preparing memos, slides, emails, spreadsheets, and other materials to communicate results contributing to the preparation of client deliverables
- Flexibly serve either as an individual contributor or lead on project modules, depending on the staffing needs of the assignment and the firm
- Develop a solid understanding of the client context and business issues
- Coach team members, collaborate with project leads, and interact with client stakeholders to frame issues and develop hypotheses
- Credibly deliver portions of Avascent findings during formal briefings and informal working sessions, including helping team members prepare for such sessions
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven research skills and an ability to conduct sophisticated analyses of complex policy, government-driven markets, and global business issues
- Ability to intake new information continuously, prioritize appropriately, and adjust both approach and activities accordingly, within short timelines (e.g. three to eight weeks)
- Ability to work well both individually and as part of larger teams, including creating a positive and productive work environment and coaching junior staff
- Ability to communicate ideas and interact across all levels within Avascent, as well as with senior level personnel in corporate, government, and academic communities
- Demonstrated commitment to service and dedication to client and team success
- Consistent pursuit of excellence with acute attention to detail and quality of output
- Ability to remain resilient, flexible, and responsive internally and externally in a fast-paced, demanding work environment
- Fluency in both French and English languages
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE
- At least a Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, international relations, political science, economics, government, engineering or related field from a recognized institution with coursework relevant to Avascent’s core business
- Three (3) to eight (8) years of work experience in either consulting or the industries we serve (defense, aerospace, healthcare, commercial aviation, space, cybersecurity), or some equivalent combination, is preferred
