As part of our strong growth we are looking for talent to join the B2C Engineering team as the Android Team Lead. The B2C Engineering team is working on our hardware wallets (Nano S/X), as well as on Ledger Live, the central software we deliver to our users to manage it and track their cryptocurrency portfolio.
Ledger is looking for someone that will help hire then lead a team of engineers in charge of building the whole Android experience for our products, from the OS customization to the implementation of the many apps required.Responsibilities
- Functional lead of the Android development team, whose scope will be the customization of the android experience on our hardware devices
- Help recruit and scale the engineering team with top talents from the industry
- Work closely with product team to define, develop and test relevant product features
- Work inside the B2C delivery organisation to achieve our target dates for launching our next generation product
- Collaborate closely with engineering leads, architects, product managers and leadership to continuously improve the quality of our products and our processes
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in managing very technical teams
- Experience in Android application development, tools and SDKs
- Good knowledge of Java or Kotlin
- Knowledge of UI/UX practices in Android
- Ability to organize modifications to system applications and to the framework itself
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- Enthusiast about hiring new talent and building a team
- Excellent presentation and written communication
- Engineering degree
Nice to have
- Experience in Hardware/Firmware development, to help drive interactions with our hardware products
- Knowledge of Electron / React, the stack used by Ledger Live
- Knowledge of Android framework and AOSP
- Experience on tech stacks used by our backend team (Scala, Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of Blockchain/cryptocurrency area
- Knowledge of cryptography and security
