Founded in 2015, we now deliver hundreds of thousands of orders a day from more than 300 locations in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Netherlands, and Turkey. In 2021, we plan to rock the streets and doorsteps of many, many more cities across the world, including the USA, Spain, Italy, and Portugal, spreading the experience and wonder of seamless, super-fast delivery that simply works for everyone. To make super-fast delivery possible, we don’t refrain from getting involved in all the aspects that go into it. However, we like to do everything in a startup-savvy way that is driven by technology.
Now is the opportunity for you to join us in France if you are a Commercial Legal Counsel in search of action! As the Legal Counsel, France you will support the French GM and local heads of function with all commercial and contractual matters. Our business is broad and varied, we are more than just an app and more than just a super-fast grocery delivery service, we are B2B and B2C and we are involved in the entire value chain from distribution to customer interaction, thus the complexity and stretch offered are very different to ordinary commercial legal roles. You’ll find yourself with a seat at the table when any important commercial matter is being considered and you’ll become one of the linchpins of our ever-growing, ever-exciting business.

What you’ll do:
- Work closely with the General manager and heads of department in France to solve any commercial legal matters including support when driving negotiations with suppliers, considering consumer commercial terms and everything in between that has a commercial aspect
- Work closely with commercial, strategy, and operational teams and provide commercial legal support
- Advise internal stakeholders regarding key issues and risks in our commercial contracts, and ensure that our agreements reflect our internal standards and guidelines.
- Provide contract review support to all leads requiring commercial contracts for the French business
- Manage external counsel as and when required for more specialized matters
- Establish and maintain contract templates where necessary
- The ability to work quickly is essential to our business. You will be confident in your decision-making which will allow you to make commercial decisions quickly.

Requirements
- 5 years of work experience as a French qualified lawyer with a focus on commercial matters
- Significant experience and a proven ability in roles requiring excellent analytical skills and legal writing,
- Keen business actiën, you are a business person first and foremost and you use your legal knowledge to enable our business
- Proven track record of delivering consistently on complex projects under challenging circumstances with a sense of urgency, but with the ability to also keep broader strategic objectives in focus.
- Master’s and/or post-graduate degree with an outstanding academic record in a related discipline.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with significant experience and proven success in roles requiring the ability to interface at all levels, building strong relationships internally and externally.
- Fluency in both French and English and the ability to draft in both languages
- Be a good person. Beyond just doing what’s the legal minimum, ask yourself if something is ethical or not. Voice your opinion wherever necessary.
