Quality Assurance Manager

GOURMEY is France's pioneering cultivated meat company. We create delicious and sustainable restaurant-grade meats directly from animal cells.

As our first Quality Assurance Manager, will play a key role in establishing and enforcing the food safety and quality systems that will come to define cultivated meat food production, processing, and packaging processes at pilot and commercial scale.

About the role

• You will be responsible for providing operational direction, implementation, and execution of all programs to ensure the safety, quality, and regulatory compliance of GOURMEY cultivated meat products.
• You will advise operational departments, guarantee the regulatory and quality compliance of GOURMEY products at each stage of their development, from concept to delivery.
• In this context, you will work closely with the various departments of the company (Ramp;D, Process development, Product development, Manufacturing, Management).

Responsibilities

• Build-up the Regulatory and Quality team and activities;
• Define and implement the QMS system;
• Provide guidance and train each department to the quality rules and procedures;
• Manage incidents, CAPA;
• Collect from the departments the information and technical documentation necessary for the preparation of registration, authorization or declaration files, as well as for CE/US marking. Lead preparatory meetings;
• Create and maintain quality procedures, documentation and processes for the Company to operate at gold standard from industry stand-point;
• Have a comprehensive knowledge of the product and its life cycle to analyze product characteristics and to review processes, objectives and constraints within each department;
• Identify and analyze the regulatory framework and the modalities of introduction to the European and US markets for the product. Study the relevant ISO certifications applicable in the company ;
• Be responsible for identifying impacts of international regulations, standards and guidance to our Quality Management System.
• Propose and lead a strategy regarding regulatory framework, Company and product certification; Lead and be responsible for the certification process, relation with certification bodies and fillings; Ensure that authorizations are obtained within the regulatory deadlines and those required by the sales objectives;
• Control compliance (finished product, documentation, communication). Participate to the the authorization of the launching of batches;
• Carry out studies and manage audits with service providers.

Requirements

About you

• At least 3-5 years of experience in a Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance environment managing a food safety and quality program in a regulated facility,
• Experience in the build-up of a Regulatory and Quality department,
• Demonstrated management or supervisory experience with strong interpersonal and influencing skills,
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with a strong emphasis on organizational capabilities and external communications,
• Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in carrying out various assignments in a concrete way,
• Operational and concrete problem-solving mindset,
• Strong attention to detail/quality focus,
• Familiarity with Quality concepts and practices,
• An in-depth knowledge of European and International regulations,
• Perfectly fluent in English.
• Ideally: Experience in ISO certifications and CE/US marking, meat regulation, GMP.
