Role Overview
Global Citizen is expanding its French content and actions into new markets. As part of this project, we’re hiring a native French-speaking Editor to assist with several editorial functions until 31st December 2021. This role will report to our Languages Manager and will be responsible for editing, translating, and promoting French-language content on the GC platform. A small part of the job (around 10%) will involve writing original content. This role is fully remote.
Responsibilities
- Translate and edit market-relevant content (editorial; campaign actions; web pages etc) from English into French
- Upload onto our content management system on globalcitizen.org
- Write the newsletter on a weekly basis
- Collaborate with the Languages Manager during projects and campaigns to achieve communications objectives
- Occasionally: Write original news and feature stories relevant to the French market, with a focus on France, Canada, and Francophone Africa, reporting to the Editorial Leads.
- Create social posts for each piece of content to be promoted on FB and Twitter, and manage associated budget
- Occasionally: Work with the marketing team on market research for the French market, helping with rewards content and paid social ads, as needed.
- Integrate and adapt GC messaging into content pieces and across relevant markets
Requirements
Experience
- 3 to 5 Years of Journalism, communications, media, or political science background experience
- Previous experience translating English to French for professional publications
- Experience writing original content in a journalistic fashion in French
- A passion for Global Citizen’s vision of ending extreme poverty by the year 2030
- Working experience programming content to social media platforms; willingness to learn how to create paid posts on FB and TW
- Comfortable working with content management systems
