We are looking for an experienced warehouse manager to manage our distribution centre. You will lead our distribution centre operations, managing the day-to-day processes and overseeing our fleet of Zapp vehicles making deliveries to our dark stores. You should have hands-on managerial leadership experience in a warehouse environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the distribution centre team to ensure inbound, put-away, picking, packing and dispatch processes are safe and efficient
- Manage, motivate and support the distribution centre staff within a time-sensitive and demanding operational environment, in order to deliver team performance and productivity
- Manage the distribution fleet, including ensuring on time delivery, mitigating any issues that arise and ensuring full compliance with our HGV fleet obligations
- Creatively problem-solve and come up with solutions to challenges facing your team. Identify opportunities to improve our processes, equipment and layout to make us faster and more accurate
- Work closely with the technology team to ensure our WMS is operating effectively
- Maintain health and safety standards, promoting a positive on-site safety culture, ensuring the site is compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with our Director of Distribution to ensure we are meeting our distribution centre performance KPIs
- Monitor logistics to make sure they run smoothly
- Find cost-effective solutions for supply chain processes
- Collaborate with HQ in driving process and tech improvements, being the voice of the distribution centre, advocating for what your team needs to perform
Requirements
- Experience leading and managing teams in a distribution centre
- Experience working in food retail or FMCG
- Experience managing delivery fleets
- Knowledge of transport legislation and operator licencing
- Transport Manager CPC holder (desirable)
- IOSH Managing Safely qualified (or equivalent qualification) is desirable
- Creative thinking and innovative nature we’re launching a new business model that requires us to think out of the box
- Entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable in highly ambiguous environment and able to independently take responsibility from day one with ability to work with little direction
- Effective communicator able to disseminate ideas in a clear, concise manner to the relevant stakeholders through both verbal and written communication
