Blazar is looking for a talented AI Lead to join a fast-paced, collaborative, diverse small team to lead all Ramp;D aspects for the advancement of our platform dedicated to predicting cancer response to therapy.
Reporting directly to the CEO, this position requires strong management and leadership skills as well as a deep understanding of computer vision and statistical methodologies applied to life sciences or healthcare. A proven track record of technical skills in these areas, as well as experience building and leading development teams is required. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively over web-based channels is necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Lead all aspects related to Ramp;D
- Optimize strategies for methods development and qualification
- Collaborate across the organization and be a key member and contributor to the team
- Manage internal talent, capital resources and project milestones and endpoints
- Develop written and oral communications of high quality and accessible to different audiences
- Be a technical resource for junior talent and be able to leverage own network
- Act as an internal technical resource for the Ramp;D process, as well as a subject matter expert for external partners and collaborators
Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- Ph.D. or Masters in a relevant field (e.g. Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics), with at least 2 years of professional experience in healthcare/life sciences
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years relevant experience
- Previous experience in healthcare focused startup
- Motivated, self-starter with strong leadership skills
- Good interpersonal, team, and communication skills are a must
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience with project planning and allocation of resources
- Knowledge of cloud solutions
- Experience with computer vision / deep learning models for pathology
- Familiarity with patient data and survival models
- Proficient in developing deep learning pipelines
- Good knowledge of Python, git, bash in industry environment
- Familiarity with front-end development (our front-end is react.js + node.js) and noSQL databases (MongoDB)
