Your Career: As the SHE Manager of INEOS Automotive you will work within a scale-up and fast moving environment. You will be surrounded by a team of experts in their field and be given the autonomy and freedom to develop the role as we grow.
The Role: You’re going to be responsible for the development and implementation of the company’s safety programs and SHE processes across all our sites (Hambach, Böblingen (Germany), Porto and London). Travel therefore will be expected across all these sites. We’ll need you to establish action plans to ensure that all company and legal requirements that pertain to Safety, Health and the Environment are appropriately identified, defined and then implemented to meet our business targets.
We’ll be looking for you to lead, develop and manage a team of SHE Specialists to provide expert technical advice and direction to our Industrialisation Director and senior management, as well as site managers and other personnel including Technical Authorities and Subject Matter Experts.
In essence, you’ll be responsible for evaluating the workplace environment and developing safety-management policies that identify and define the safety responsibilities of all employees. This will involve assessing the nature of business activities, continually maintaining an appropriate level of awareness, knowledge, and preparedness across the organisation, and coordination of training programs for our employees.
We’ll want you to draft, review and update institutional HSE policies and conduct risk assessments to detect potential hazards and plan precautionary measures too.
For the SHE Manager we are looking for:
- A seasoned SHE professional; degree qualified or equivalent in a relevant SHE, or Engineering discipline with a SHE bias or extensive experience in a manufacturing role
- Expert knowledge of SHE legislation and site/business legislative compliance requirements both UK and European
- Wide practical knowledge of site process operations
- Demonstrated expertise in investigation and root cause analysis of high consequence accidents and incidents
- Expert in SHE regulatory and SMS protocols (INEOS, OSHA, RIDDOR).
- A solid track record in effective consultation and cooperation with safety and employee representatives to develop an empowered and pro-active partnership approach to SHE
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relevant relationships and networks
- Excellent leadership skills including the ability to build effective teams, motivate and develop individuals, be a positive influencer, decisive and change orientated
- Fluency in English and French is a must
