OverviewCriteo [CRTO]is seeking a Global Corporate Controller to oversee the financial statements and related processes of Criteo, a US Nasdaq listed French company, and its subsidiaries. The role will have responsibility for global accounting operations, accounting policy, consolidation and financial reporting. The candidate must have excellent technical accounting skills including tax accounting and be fully conversant in both US GAAP and IFRS accounting.The Global Controller position is accountable for the accounting operations of Criteo and its subsidiaries (the Company), including (1) the coordination and production of periodic financial reports, (2) the maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records (3) the maintenance of a comprehensive set of internal controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the Company’s reported financial results and (4) responsibility for the preparation and review of the Company’s external financial reporting, including earnings press release financial tables, Form 10-Q and Form 10-K. The Controller is responsible to ensure that reported results comply with U.S. generally accepted accounting principles and SEC reporting requirements and for coordinating the assessment and implementation of new accounting pronouncements.
The Global Controller also acts as the main liaison point between the various groups within Finance and Accounting and Global Shared Services teams and is responsible for the completeness and accuracy of accounting transactions in our ERP financial systems and consolidation tool. They will be a partner with tax, treasury and other business partners to ensure appropriate business structuring across our global subsidiaries. They must strive for excellent communication amongst these groups and all business units to ensure there is a robust, timely, and comprehensive consultation on complex business transactions and judgmental items to ensure that data provided for accounting and reporting purposes is accurate. And the Controller will be the main liaison with our Company’s external auditors, coordinating the activities of our local statutory accounts, reporting and audits. The Global Corporate Controller role is based in Paris, France, [with management responsibility over a global team mostly based in France].
What you'll do
  • Oversees and directs a comprehensive system of financial reporting and analysis for the company and its subsidiaries and affiliates.
  • Provides technical guidance and operations support to proposed transactions.
  • Ensures global compliance with US and local GAAP accounting standards, regulations and best practices.
  • Creates, evolves, and enforces internal controls for all financial transactions and supporting evidence, partnering closely with our Internal Controls testing team.
  • Manages and directs all external financial reporting, including all aspects of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reporting requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with laws, regulations, industry changes and accounting practices.
  • Develops and ensures strong, transparent relationships with external auditors.
  • Develops, motivates, and retains top talent by effectively applying performance management and talent development processes for team members.
  • Continually assesses and drives improvement in the operating effectiveness and efficiency of accounting and reporting operations, including organization structure and operating processes
Who you are
  • Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting, CPA, CMA or international equivalent.
  • 10+ years of financial leadership experience in positions of increasing scope and responsibility in diverse, complex and global environments.
  • Strong business acumen and vision for a progressive and constructive accounting and finance partnership with management.
  • Executive presence combined with a high degree of maturity and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
