About Valneva:

Valneva is a specialty vaccine company that develops, manufactures, and commercializes prophylactic vaccines for infectious diseases addressing unmet medical needs. Our focused pipeline includes the world’s first vaccine against the chikungunya virus, the only Lyme disease vaccine candidate in advanced clinical development, which is partnered with Pfizer, as well as vaccine candidates against the Zika virus and other global public health threats.

We are currently seeking a talented Sales Manager to join our team in France. In this role, you are responsible for driving amp; leading commercial performance of Valneva France within existing and new customer segments. Primary responsibilities are to contribute to commercial strategy for our operations in France, drive execution of sales target in our different segments and lead France field-based team.

The incumbent will be reporting to the VP, General Manager, Commercial Operations France amp; Benelux

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive sales target for France including break-down by market segment. This includes driving and executing commercial policy in accordance with pricing governance amp; guidelines
  • Contribute to commercial strategy by defining adequate go-to-market for existing portfolio of travel vaccines and new product launch (Chikungunya vaccine), this includes active participation to brand plan and direct contribution to Omnichannel strategy for France
  • Lead, support and manage the field-based team (currently: one Key Account Manager Travel Clinics and one Key Account Manager Pharmacies), this includes implementation of CRM solution (already identified amp; deployed) and ensure compliance with existing regulation on product promotion in direct collaboration with head pharmacists
  • Ensure training requirements are met for field-based employees, in close collaboration w/ marketing, medical amp; head pharmacists
  • Compile and refresh whenever needed target lists for themselves and in collaboration with field-based team to optimise sales revenues within existing customer base
  • Explore and drive opportunities to increase sales revenues within new customers / segments and compile amp; present proposals
  • Track amp; analyse sales revenues and trends to provide and/or use clear and actionable insights
  • Implement tactical plans in line with brand and / or product strategies and against pre-defined KPIs, in accordance w/ commercial excellence standards
  • Provide analysis on sales and / or specific Business Development projects whenever needed, including definition of commercial strategy and resources needed to achieve targets
  • Seek amp; provide ways to manage vaccine stock levels to either optimise sales or profitability levels while reducing risks of temporary out of stock situations, this includes definition of product allocation, in accordance with Head Pharmacists
  • Combine field days to meet with customers and/or go on field-visits with team members with days interacting from home with internal and external customers
  • Work collaboratively with all cross-functional team members, in particular: marketing, customer engagement amp; omnichannel, business operations and medical affairs
  • Act as a point of contact for global initiatives involving commercial excellence amp; requests for KPIs
  • Be the voice of France in the Valneva commercial network

Requirements

    • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in sales amp; people management within vaccines.
    • Ability to promote medicines as per French regulation (carte APM, Pharma degree)
    • Fluent English is a must to interact within Valneva organization
    • Commercial demonstrated skills in a pharma environment, in a competitive situation
    • Good understanding of French pharma regulation, ideally specific vaccine market dynamics
    • Entrepreneurial spirit
    • Results-oriented, competitive mindset and customer focused
    • Energetic and self-motivated
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with various groups whilst able to operate independently
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
