At GOURMEY, you will report directly to the Head of Quality amp; Food Safety, and you will work in a team of 3 gourmates.


What will you be responsible for?

Gourmey’s Quality Control Engineer plays a central role in ensuring the quality of Gourmey’s day-to-day operations.

Within the role, you will:

  • Support the development and implementation of QC assays with a focus on microbiology and cellular/molecular biology techniques.
  • Conduct routine and non-routine cell line quality assays, including sterility, identity, and other relevant parameters as required.
  • Perform routine and non-routine quality assays to assess the compliance of raw materials, reagents/chemicals, and finished products.
  • Implement environmental monitoring of laboratories and production facilities to control biological and chemical hazards, including routine quality testing of air, equipment surfaces, processing environment, and water systems.
  • Collaborate in the writing and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Quality Management System (QMS) documentation related to quality testing.
  • Coordinate and oversee the preparation and shipment of samples to external QC laboratories.
  • Track analytical testing data and promptly report potential quality issues.
  • Share QC results with Gourmey's Analytical Development amp; QC Lead, fostering effective communication and collaboration.

The ideal candidate has previous experience in a QC laboratory, and a high level of organization, is a team player, a good multi-tasker, and a strong communicator.

This role will work closely with the Analytical Development amp; QC Lead (when hired), our Head of Lab Operations, the QA team, and various scientists and engineers in Gourmey.



What about you?

Must-have:

  • +2 years minimum of proven experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry or a GLP/GMP laboratory environment in a QC role.
  • Experience with molecular biology techniques (DNA/RNA and protein-based)
  • Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
  • With the ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate with all team members, you are hands-on, and action-driven and you carry out projects to completion.
  • Enthusiastic, with a strong work ethic and self-motivation; a sense of ownership and responsibility to drive outcomes. Efficient and self-organized.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with standard pluripotency assay (qPCR, FACS, alkaline phosphatase), standard sterility assay (mycoplasma, etc..), and genetic stability assays.
  • Strong technical knowledge of microbial testing methodologies and microbiology problem-solving skills
  • Basic knowledge of environmental monitoring methods and GLP/ GMP.
