Akur8 offers a Software-as-a-service product fully hosted on AWS. Our software allows insurance companies to perform the full end-to-end process for non-life insurance pricing:
- Data Analysis
- Risk and Demand modelling
- Rate Making with specific functionalities to perform an Impact Analysis of different strategies
- Optimisation of the set of Rates under given constraints.
Today, we’re looking for end of study full stack Software Engineer interns, with strong interest in mathematical modelling and cloud-computing to help build our complex insurance pricing software.
As part of our Engineering team you will contribute to the implementation of machine-learning models used for risk modelling, demand modelling and price optimization; implementation of the design interface and user flows; the architecture of our databases and interaction with the cloud.
You will begin by:
- Reading and understanding the main cloud infrastructure components we use
- Familiarising yourself with our tech stack
- Understanding our algorithms and business models
Continue with implementation:
- Implement an end-to-end feature leveraging new protocols . Integrate your findings in production.
- Implement reliable tests, use continuous integration and exploit at best AWS Cloud capabilities with our back-end engineers.
Your work will consist of:
- Strong global understanding of our client needs and the business objective of our features
- Design, build, integrate and maintain efficient, reusable and reliable code.
Requirements
We are looking for curious and motivated students who are seeking an end of studies internship, with the following skills:
- Currently studying for an MSc in the fields of Computer Science amp; Applied Mathematics in a leading Engineering School
- Strong knowledge of an OOP language.
- Good knowledge of mathematics (in particular statistics)
- Strong problem solving skills: high level of rigour, integrity, curiosity and self-motivation
- Excited about code craftsmanship, to build robust code using best practices
- Communication and presentation skills
- Fluent English language skills
