Insurance pricing is a complex process spanning across statistical modeling, visualizations and team collaboration.
Akur8 software strives to increase efficiency, performance and transparency of the pricing workflow, by designing flexible modules and processes leveraging Akur8’s proprietary machine learning algorithms.
The Actuarial Product Manager envisions and conceptualizes key features in order to empower the actuary of the future.
Being a transverse role, it provides a wide range of interactions with all of our internal teams (Design, Ramp;D, Sales, Marketing), requiring a good understanding of how the different parts of our platform interact together (knowledge that you will gain both during your onboarding period and on an ongoing basis).
Furthermore, it involves discussions with our clients in order to understand their needs and - consequently - our value proposition and opportunities for further development or product evolution.
Charged with the responsibility to both take and influence decisions regarding the different components of our product (whether independently or as part of a committee, according to strategic importance), this role requires a strong understanding of both mathematical modeling amp; data science necessary in order to participate in round-table discussions with our internal teams.
Over time, you’ll gather market information, extract the relevant elements and schedule the planning of product development to the next level. This includes:
- Being a driving force for a whole product section
- Focusing on the ‘why’ behind building features, and determine prioritizations
- Cultivating a product-oriented culture within the company
Main responsibilities
- Constantly acquiring a deep understanding of pricing techniques
- Designing proper solutions and develop plans for successful delivery
- Conducting experiments with internal teams and partners
- Prioritizing and scoping feature development for the squads
- Animating training sessions for clients, prospects as well as within the company
Requirements
For this key role within our Product Management team we’re keen to speak to applicants that meet the following criteria:
- A Masters degree in a quantitative discipline
- 3+ years experience in the Actuarial or Machine Learning fields as a Pricing Actuary, Insurance Product Manager, Actuarial Consultant or Data Science Consultant.
- Must have a sound knowledge of Machine Learning techniques, with a focus around model validation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to enable effective communications
